How to Update Your Blog Content Without a Lot of Work

If you’re a blogger, you’re probably finding that the biggest challenge is keeping your blog content fresh and updated on a weekly basis. And, if you’ve been learning a lot about internet marketing, you are already wise to the fact that content is of most importance. There may be a few visitors that come to your site for the mere purpose of looking at your web design and artistic abilities, but over all the number one purpose of those using Google and other search engines is to find information.

Once a visitor has arrived to your site, they are going to be eager to find the information that they are assuming they will find there. If your articles are offering quality information and your blog offers fresh content, your visitors will be apt to either subscribe to your rss feed, sign up for your newsletter or at the least bookmark it for a return visit.

Here’s five ideas keep your blog Updated without so much drudgery…

1. Choose a Niche Topic that You have a Lot of Interest In

Writing about the thousand varieties of fish in the sea is going to be quite difficult if you find it quite boring. Choose a topic that you have some real interest in. If you currently have a blog with a topic that is boring to you, start a new blog with a favorite topic.  No use forcing that blog to survive…for the feel of that blog will have no real depth.  No passion, no enthusiasm, no life.
Choose to move on and make a fresh new start; you’ll find it much easier to write new content.

2. Choose a Time to Write when You’re in a Energetic Mood

What ignites your energy? For some, this may be some event you’re looking forward to at the end of the  day. For others, it may take a cup of coffee and a nice hot shower to put some pep in your step. Once you feel that energy flowing, get out a your pen and paper and jot down a quick outline for a new article. Keep moving along and start your first paragraph. Once you’ve got a momentum going…you’ll finish in no time.

3. Choose a Schedule that is Reasonable to Update Your Blog

Don’t schedule yourself to blog everyday if it isn’t reasonable. The basic idea with a blog is to post  frequently, but stick with a fairly consistent schedule. If you can only blog twice a week without becoming stressed and overworked, then set this as your limit. Your readers will know what to expect and become familiar with your schedule. The saying that “quality is better than quantity” goes for blogging too.  If you deliver quality articles and information, then there’s no reason to blog 7 days a week.

4. Chat Online with Groups and Forums Related to Your Niche Topic

This may sound like fun…and it is. In fact, it’s probably the easiest part of working your home business.  It’s a great way to network, but I’m not necessarily talking about networking and marketing right now. Use  this time to listen carefully to the questions, concerns and interests of those in the forum. This should  trigger some ideas to write about. Post those questions on your blog and answer them from your point of view. Don’t be afraid to rub against the grain a little. This can spark some discussions on your own blog.

5. Create Content Quickly With Some PLR.

Sorry, “PLR” doesn’t mean, “Playing, Laughing and Resting” But it does mean less work. PLR stands for “Private Label Rights”.  You can find private label articles that are ready-to-use and will require no link back to the author.  You can find PLR content at affordable rates because you are actually going to share these articles with others who may purchase the same articles.  *Check out our “Get Website Content” page for some great resources.

At first this may seem dreadful. Duplicate content is now a fearsome topic with internet marketers. However, if you use PLR articles the right way, you should have no trouble enhancing and customizing these articles to make them as your very own. Some ideas are to change the titles, do some research to keyword optimize them, combine articles together to make a report, split articles to
create some tips to offer your readers and even inserting a little of your personality by adding a joke or personal story.

As a final word of creating content, blogging shouldn’t seem like a travailing task. If necessary outsource some of your work, but take charge of what topics you will cover. People blog for various reasons and you need to decide the purpose of your blog and what you want to accomplish with it. Do you want to monetize it with Google Adsense and affiliate marketing, or solely use it to establish yourself as an expert on your niche topic? The content you need will depend upon this decision.

  2. I’ve found myself out of ideas on what to write in my blog before. Then I think of my children. They teach me something new everyday- something I can share with the world. If you ever feel out of ideas, write about what parenthood has taught you. I bet you won’t be at a loss for words :)
