Affiliate marketing is still my most favorite money-making venture online.  It’s just so suitable for busy moms who want to earn a little extra income online without all the hassles of maintaining a full-blown business with all the hassles of customer service, shipping, handling refunds, etc.

Finding good affiliate programs shouldn’t be a difficult task.  Once you know what types of products or services you want to promote, looking for affiliate programs that offer quality products, fair commission rates, incentives and plenty of promotional products should be your main goal.

Here’s 5  recommended resources that good affiliate programs should offer:

Training Materials: Some people who join affiliate programs will be seasoned veterans, but for those who are not, training materials, such as a guide to getting started with affiliate marketing or a report on building a mailing list, will  help ‘newbies’ get off to a running start.  Good affiliate programs will offers these types of materials because they care about their affiliates and want them to be successful.

Sample Emails: Email marketing is a great way to increase sales. In order to catch readers’ attention and induce the sale, the marketing message contained within an email needs to stand out from all the other emails this person receives. Of course, not everyone is a gifted writer, so helping affiliates with this part is a very helpful benefit. Affiliates can increase their sales with pre-written sample emails that they can use to market the affiliate products to their individual mailing lists.

Ads: In addition to marketing products via email, some affiliates will want to display ads on their websites and blogs. Good affiliate programs offer some text link ads as well as some graphic ads in a few different sizes.

Articles: It’s no secret that people turn to the web in order to gain information. Affiliate programs offering their affiliates some articles that they can use on their websites and blogs are helping them drive traffic to their sites, giving their readers a reason to stay on the site for a longer period of time, and promoting the affiliate products at the same time.

Special Reports: Brandable  reports that you can use as a give-away item can help you increase the size of your own mailing list. The term ‘brandable’ means that affiliates can include their individual affiliate link in the report in place of the links that are already included.

For example, if your affiliate program is selling a recipe book for dog treats, it would be great to have a brandable report that explained the benefits of making homemade dog treats versus buying dog treats at the store. Within the report, your affiliate link to the recipe book would be included.  Affiliates can use these brandable reports as a freebie to people who sign up for their mailing list or as a bonus to a product of their own.

Finding good affiliate programs with these helpful resources will help you become a better and more successful marketer. This will, of course, will also help you in the long run to gain new marketing skills and hopefully increase your sales and commissions.
