Mom’s Weekly Internet Marketing Advisor
Helping you Build your Home Business
Up Close & Personal:
I have to say, as a stay-at-home mom, I’ve had to really focus on priorities such as church activities, home schooling, preparing healthy meals and keeping the house looking somewhat decent all at the same time. Sometimes it means not allowing perfection to get in the way.
The other day I learned a lesson while training for a local run in our home town at the end of October. Sometimes we have to take a break. I was exhausted one early morning and had to “walk it”. You know what? It’s okay…I’m back on track and made the run early this morning! It’s a good thing, too, that I have an accountability partner. We encourage each other to keep going.
I think running a home business needs the same thing. You need to take a breather sometimes…and it’s so helpful to have an accountability partner or at least someone to connect with and encourage you. I hope that I can be one of your encouragers!

You can improve your home business within minutes simply by getting organized. Here are 6 great tips for getting organized…

The first tip for getting organized is to keep your work space clean. This will help you get more work done and it will also help you feel better and reduce stress. Make this one of your priorities this week and see what results happen! Submit a comment below to let me know!
2. Make a List of Daily Goals
Aim at nothing and you’ll hit nothing every time! Improve your home business within minutes by making a list of daily goals. Once you have your list then you need to make sure to follow it. Making a list of specific goals and following it will help keep you organized every single day and help you accomplish a WHOLE LOT MORE!
3. Use Only One Calendar
Another great tip for getting organized is to use only one calendar. Don’t make the mistake of trying to use several different calendars for different tasks. Keep all your plans together in one calendar.
4. Throw out Old Office Supplies
Do you ever spend minutes ransacking through tons of office supplies for that particular pen, marker or stapler? To stay more organized, throw out old office supplies that you don’t use anymore…particularly ones you haven’t used in over a year! This will help unclutter your desk area and keep you more organized overall. Not only will it improve your home business within minutes, but it will also relieve stress and save time.
5. Keep a Schedule
Is Twitter dwindling away your time? The last tip to improve your home business within minutes is to keep a good schedule. You want your schedule to be as detailed as possible, but don’t make the mistake of stressing yourself out! Allow plenty of time to complete each task. Then make sure you are working on what you need to be working on at the appropriate time. Be sure to take breaks and reward yourself on achieving your goals and sticking to your schedule!
6. Make good use of a timer
To sum up all that we’ve discussed above, get out your timer and dust if off now! Set the timer for a 5 minute clean up of your work area first thing in the mornings. Take 3 – 5 minutes to set your daily goals. Use your calendar to check tasks and upcoming deadlines. Use a timer while working on projects or writing articles to help you stay focused. Managing your home business get easier as you establish good habits of staying organized and keeping track of your time schedule.

Mark
Because I am quite new on the internet retail business, I am always on the worry mode about this and that. I found myself stressed out a lot. Not only that, I am still keeping my part time job at school and looking after two kids. Life is hectic. I am practising positive thinking and visualization to help restore positive energy. Sometimes, I just need to hear other moms say it is okay not to be perfect or stressing out.
Dior,
Thanks for stopping by and taking time to comment. Of course, no one can live up to the standards of perfection! Doing so only adds to our stress and sets our self up for failure. Just decide on your main priorities and do your best doing what you can!!
These are all great tips. The one that is most definitely pertinent for my business is keeping a schedule. I have to keep everything organized or something always falls through the cracks. I love Google calendar because it has great syncing capabilities with smartphones. I don’t know what I would do without it especially since I host so many demo parties and team training sessions!

Suzanne, that’s great… Google seems to have a lot of handy tools. I use a small pocket calendar by my desk to put my daily goals on it…so it serves as a two-fold tool to keep up on my schedule and plan my goals at the same time.
