How to Write Good Website Content to Sell Your Products

how-to-write-good-website-contentWriting good content for your website, blog, or sales page is most essential when it comes to promoting your products. If your content is junk, your website is going to be considered “junk”. (Your visitor’s instinct: Hit the back button quick!)

Finding someone to write quality content is hard to come by, in fact, if you visit webmaster forums or internet marketing forums there are tons of people claiming to be good writers. In reality, a lot of writers you find online are not worth your money.

Why bother getting good content for your site? Finding a quality writer for your sales page and blog will convert into many more sales and repeat visitors than a bunch of poorly written (and boring) content on your site.  If you’re needing help with your content, then consider using the service of “Burn Your To Do List.”

Here’s four tips on writing your own good content for your website:

Don’t use filler content. Each word should make sense and be used with purpose.  Use short and specific sentences whenever possible. Do not ramble on about a subject for two paragraphs restating the same point over and over again.

Include images in your work. Always try to include an image with your articles if possible. Including images with proper formatting and SEO techniques (including title and description) will not only draw your reader’s attention to the post or article but will also help you in ranking on search engines and can draw traffic to your site by themselves.

Use spell check and proof read. Simply going over the the article without actually reading the article again is going to bite you in the future. It looks unprofessional to use the word “their” instead of “there” on a consistent basis.

Mistakes do happen, I have read peer-reviewed books that have typos in them, but by minimizing your misspelling and grammar errors, you will garner more respect for your work. Well written, researched, and passionate posts are always going to sell more products and get you more views than rewritten articles that appear as spam.

Use private label content. Using private label content means that you can use the content without having to link back or give credit to the author.  It’s valuable in the fact that you can rewrite it (which allows you to personalize it and add your own ideas without starting from scratch), cut out any parts you don’t want or put a few articles together to make a report, etc.  You can visit my site, PLRContentShop.com for some quality private label content resources that should be useful to you in many niches.

4 Tips to Creating Catchy Headlines that Sell

4 Tips to Creating Catchy Headlines that Sell

catchy-headlinesYou only have mere seconds to catch a prospect’s attention.  One of the most powerful tools you have to accomplish this task is your headline.  There are several keys to creating catchy headlines that are both compelling and selling.  Below are a few tips to help you get the job done right…

1.  Tap into Your Prospects’ Emotions

According to psychologists, our buying decisions are based first and foremost on our emotions.  Use headlines which offer your readers a strong emotional benefit or reaction.

For example, 20 Steps that Will Make You a Business Genius taps into readers’ desires to feel smart and powerful.

Other emotions you can tap into are a desire to feel:

1. Attractive
2. Assertive
3. Confident
4. Energetic
5. Pampered
6. A sense of belonging
7. Wealthy
8. Proud
9. Respected
10. Safe

2. Make Your Words Active

To create catchy headlines that compel your readers, it’s important to use active language – language that draws action and commands attention.

For example, Stop Your Sugar Cravings Today With This Simple Step, is a fine headline; however, it doesn’t command action nor does it really tap into any emotions.  On the other hand consider this headline: Conquer Your Sugar Cravings With This Simple StepConquer is an active and emotionally powerful word.  Readers receive the benefit of feeling powerful and in control and it commands action.  To conquer is to defeat…or to get rid of their sugar cravings once and for all!

3.  Let Your Readers Know They’re Important

The word YOU is a very powerful word that immediately catches the personal attention of your reader.  It let’s your readers feel as if you’re talking to them specifically and interested in solving their problems, issues and helping them achieve their desires.  Instead of using I, Me or We in your headlines, use You.  Using the headline example above compare the two options:
Conquer Your Sugar Cravings With This Simple Step“.
Conquer Sugar Cravings with Our System

People want to know what’s in it for them and when they can assess that information in the headline, they’re going to be compelled to continue reading your copy and making a purchase.

Here are three more ideas for powerful headlines:

* Make a promise – Earn $150 a day
* Make it newsworthy – New program guarantees you’ll earn $150 a day.
* Ask a question – Do you want to ensure your financial future?

4.  Use These Three Simple Steps to Write Catchy Headlines That Sell

So now that you have some ideas about what types of headlines sell, use these three simple steps to write powerful headlines.

Step One – Get to know your audience intimately. What are their hopes, dreams, desires, and problems?  Understanding your audience will help you create an emotional and powerful headline directed specifically at your audience.

Step Two – Determine how your products or services are going to make your prospects’ lives better or solve their problems. For example if you sell fitness equipment and your audience struggles with feeling attractive then you can create a headline that highlights a specific benefit your fitness equipment offers to solve that problem.

Step Three – Write ten to twenty (yes, twenty or even more) possible headlines. Not only will this give you practice writing compelling headlines, it’ll help you hone in on that perfect headline.  And if you think you have a few winners you can always test them for conversion rates to find out which headline is more effective.

Marketing and copywriting experts consider your headline to be the most import element of any effective marketing piece.  Take the time to craft a compelling, and selling, headline and you’ll reap the benefits for years to come.

4 Tips to Choosing Good Affiliate Programs that Result in Bigger Profits

4 Tips to Choosing Good Affiliate Programs that Result in Bigger Profits

choose-good-affiliate-programsTip 1: Choose top notch products that are high in demand.

Choose good affiliate programs by first selecting good products.  You won’t have much success selling “silly willies” if nobody really cares for them.

It’s very easy to determine what’s hot and what’s not by using the internet. Simply go to your favorite search engine;  type in the name of the product (e.g. “Super Dooper Scrubber reviews”) and the search results should show several reviews about the product.  You can use this technique to check out any affiliate product.

Tip 2: Check out potential affiliate programs before you join.

You might have a product that’s very popular and in high demand, but if you have chosen a company who does not pay their affiliates, you won’t be making much profit.

Once again you can use search engines to investigate; (e.g. search “Melanie’s Super Dooper Scrubber Affiliate Program review/reviews”). With a little effort of searching, you should discover whether Melanie pays her affiliates their commissions or if people say she’s a “scammer” or a “cheat”.

Tip 3: Find affiliate programs related as closely as possible to your niche.

You’ll have a hard time selling beef to people who are vegetarians (boring example, but you get the point).

If you’re planning to promote several affiliate programs, save work searching by utilizing some affiliate networks such as clickbank.com, paydotcom.com, commissionjunction.com, linkshare.com, shareasale.com, etc.  You can also browse some affiliate program directories such as associateprograms.com.

Tip 4: Choose affiliate programs that offer marketing tools.

Good affiliate programs help their affiliates.   Top notch affiliate programs offer many marketing articles and tools that their affiliates can use.  They also provide some additional training and keep their affiliates up-to-date on current sales and coupon codes.

Affiliate marketing is not difficult to do, but like anything else that is worthwhile you must be willing to work at it. One last tip for you…don’t pay to join an affiliate program.  There are way too many top notch affiliate programs that won’t cost you a dime to join.  So, choose good affiliate programs that will be worthwile and you should be able to profit well.

Three Simple Tips to SEO Optimize Your Website Content

Three Simple Tips to SEO Optimize Your Website Content

seo-optimize-website-content-2Content is the most powerful tool you have in your search engine optimization strategy. Relevant content, optimized for keywords, and published frequently can shoot your website to the top of the search engine results.

That being said, there are a few strategies to SEO optimize your website content…

1.  Use One Primary Keyword Per Page.

Keep it simple and optimize each webpage for one primary keyword. You could include a couple of secondary keywords that might be extensions of the primary keyword. However, trying to incorporate too many keywords into one page diffuses the results.

2.  Use your keyword strategically.

There are a few prominent places to position your keyword so they’re recognized by the search engines.

These locations include:

  • Your headline
  • Any headings or subheadings in your content
  • The first and last paragraph of your content

3.  Let your words flow naturally.

Many beginners are tempted to place their keywords in every single sentence. That generally creates an article or page that’s extremely difficult to read. Instead, write your content and then go back and position your keywords using the strategy we just outlined. Make sure to sprinkle other relevant words throughout your content as well.

For example, if you’re writing about puppy housebreaking, you can also use the words potty training, or housetraining.

Having a keyword strategy for each piece of content you write and following the tips we’ve outlined will go a long way toward helping to SEO optimize your website content and you reach the search engine results you desire.  The bottom line, write quality and well focused content for your audience first and the search engines second.  After all, your audience is the key to profits and a successful website.
