No Work? I just created a job for myself and you can too!
A little personal stuff about me…
I’ve been missing in action for awhile now. Actually, I’ve been dabbling in a few other niches…but most importantly, I took a small break to rethink things and decide what I would really like to do online. The internet marketing niche can be quite competitive and I started to feel like I wanted to do something a little different.
I find it quite odd that I created a website entitled, “MommyRevenue.com” when in reality, I’m not that enticed with money and wealth. After all, I have riches awaiting me in Heaven that are far more valuable than any earthly riches. God has abundantly blessed, in fact, my hubby and I paid off all our debts three years ago and last year paid off our house.
I also have three boys with whom I have a great time playing Monopoly and love playing with the “fake money” that affords us the delight of buying and selling property without “real” money worries. Of course, mom makes them tell the “banker” (that’s me) how much I owe them back when they purchase property, that way I they practice math at the same time.
When I created this site though…
It wasn’t with the with the intention of making a lot of money, but instead that I would be sharing with moms all that I’ve learned about online marketing and share resources that would help them work online in order to stay home with their kids. I didn’t want to be just a WAHM site selling advertising online. I wanted to offer some real information here.
For those of you who know me, I’ve been interested in affiliate marketing for quite some time. The reason behind this is that I’m a Christian wife and mom who has priorities that come first. I hate the thought of being tied down to the computer (although, it seems like I’m there much too often. lol)
Affiliate marketing appeals to me because…
I don’t have to worry about creating my own products or stress about providing customer service or shipping products. I’ve been afforded the opportunity to cash in time and time again on products that I’ve long ago promoted but still receive income from. If only I would stay more focused, I’d be earning a lot more…
The main problem that causes me to get distracted is…
I have a creative side to me that doesn’t seem to get fulfilled. I can’t seem to sit still. I love creating another website or working on a new project. In fact, I would make a great website flipper and know plenty of women who are making a nice income do so.
I would also make a great freelancer, as I’ve had success in writing…won a few awards in high school, in fact.
But, overall, I still am intrigued with “marketing” niche for some reason. I always thought it would be sort of neat to be an affiliate manager, in fact, there are some women affiliate managers who are quite good at this job…but I hated the thought of tying myself down to work for someone else on any set schedule.
The perfect fit for me…
After long thought, I decided to create my own job and become an affiliate manager working for myself. In fact, I’m giving all future weekends off! lol
It’s a mix of all that I love with working online: affiliate marketing, helping others earn money online, creating new projects and launching new products.
A short while back, I took one of my old domains and created an affiliate training center at MommyAffiliates.com
Today I just launched a new product, TrainingDogsRevealed.com, which is an 80 page ebook jam packed with information and written by a dog trainer with 20 years experience. I’m generally giving all affiliates 75% and second tier affiliates 5%.
Those who also join MommyAffiliates.com will receive additional tools and marketing support. Also, you’ll be notified of new releases. I plan to cover quite a few niches.
A lesson learned…
If you can’t find work online, consider creating your own work.
1. Decide what you like to do and create your own business.
2. Fulfill a need. There are tons of online marketers who need content, web design, an extra hand with customer support etc. Find a way to help solve a problem and make someone’s life easier and you’ll create yourself a job!

Basically this means, users can insert a PayGear Ad Feed on their website (kind of like Google ads) and any product in the top 25 listings automatically get rotated with that users affiliate link embedded. Affiliates seem to get better results with rotated ads.

What’s so great about affiliate marketing? You don’t need your own product or even your own site (although I would recommend having your own site!) to start making money online. You do need to know how to fill out the forms to apply to be an affiliate and you also need a computer. That’s it!
The downside? Becoming an affiliate is much easier than actually making money as an affiliate.
Here’s 3 Tips that can help you make more money with affiliate marketing:
1. Start Networking Online
The first tip to make more money as an affiliate is to network. You want to get to know as many people within your niche as possible. The more people you know the better.
One of the best ways to get to know people is through forums. Make quality posts on the forum and try to position yourself as an expert within the niche. Be generous with your advice and the help you’re willing to give to others. This will make people much more likely to buy a product from you.
You don’t have to shoot for immediate sales…
One of the greatest benefit of networking is building a large list. Make sure you have a sign up form on your site to your mailing list. Send them quality information and they will stay subscribed to your list. In your emails you can send them offers to buy the affiliate product you’re marketing. Make sure you only promote quality products and services. And definitely don’t spam them with offers every day. Nobody wants to be swamped with this type of mail.
2. Write Quality ‘Undated’ Content
Make more money as an affiliate by offering quality content on your blogs, website, newsletters, etc. to market your affiliate products. Your goal is to make sure the content you put online will continue to be relevant for a long time.
3. Create Review Sites

The review site doesn’t have to be anything too spectacular. It certainly doesn’t have to cost you any money. Finding good affiliate programs shouldn’t be a difficult task. Once you know what types of products or services you want to promote, looking for affiliate programs that offer quality products, fair commission rates, incentives and plenty of promotional products should be your main goal.

Training Materials: Some people who join affiliate programs will be seasoned veterans, but for those who are not, training materials, such as a guide to getting started with affiliate marketing or a report on building a mailing list, will help ‘newbies’ get off to a running start.
