8 Stress Relief Tips While Managing Your Home Business

stress relief tipsMaybe your normal. You get stressed from maintaining all the responsibilities of your family and home. To add to that, you’ve made a commitment to pursue your online business. Your things-to-do list becomes endless. Before long, you find yourself muddled with what to do next. You feel tired, ready to give up, and perhaps, you even go as far as locking yourself in the bathroom to hide from your family while you have a mental meltdown.

Try these stress relief methods while managing your home business:

1. Organize your home.

Make a quick assessment of how things are running at home. You’ll not be able to focus well on simple business tasks if you have 10 loads of laundry that need to be done. See what you can do to set a daily schedule to accomplish household chores. You need not take several hours a day to clean if you decide to focus on one particular area in your house each day. By the weekend, you can have most household chores completed and take some time to pursue some fun hobbies.

2. Reevaluate your priorities.

Fitting everything you absolutely must to do in a 24-hour period will require evaluating your priorities. If you do the most important task first, you’ll at least have accomplished the most important task that needed to be done by the end of the day. Don’t get overwhelmed by placing 100 projects on your list. It’s important to list only a reasonable amount of tasks that can actually be done. Place the first 3 important tasks first. Then, jot some extra smaller tasks at the bottom to be done (if) you get that far. You’ll feel like a “winner” once you’ve accomplished your first three tasks and like an “angel” when you’ve accomplished some of your smaller tasks as well.

3. Reevaluate your business plan.

Your business plan need not be complicated. Make a simple one-page version to keep by your desk and review it often. Are you getting side-tracked from your main goals?

My one-page business plan consists of the following:

*My Income Plan

What resources am I going to draw income from? If you have too many on your list, try downsizing and focusing on just a few resources until you are ready or willing to outsource some of your work. You’ll easily become overwhelmed and exhausted trying to handle too much on your own.

*My Marketing Plan

You better have one. Talent can only get you so far. Take time to start with some affordable advertising methods. Don’t start off clueless. Invest your time in learning some valuable online and offline marketing methods. Test a few methods out and see which ones work best for your business.

*My Action Plan

This is simple. Decide what needs to be done exactly, and decide which days are best to accomplish each of these tasks. Plan some of your larger tasks at peak hours (or days) when you have the most energy.
